With a focus on parents and caregivers in the rural city of Fuxin, this study looks at the effectiveness of the Teacher Training Institute, which promotes universal parenting education in order to reduce violence against children.

Through self-administered manuals, this curriculum helps to change parents’ awareness and attitudes towards violence against children. Parents spend a half-hour a day for 28 consecutive days to learn the manual, and after three months, this randomized control trial (RTC) study evaluates to what degree parents’ awareness, attitudes, and behaviors towards violence have changed.
